Seahawks Reduce Roster to 76 Players

A day ahead of the league's deadline to cut rosters to 75 players, the Seahawks made roster moves.

A player-by-player look at the 2015 Seattle Seahawks 75-man roster. The Seahawks must trim their roster to 53 players by 1 p.m. PT on Saturday, Sept. 5.

The Seahawks made a number of moves Monday ahead of the league's deadline to reduce rosters to 75 players.

Seattle terminated the veteran contracts of C Lemuel Jeanpierre and DT D'Anthony Smith (as veterans they are not subject to waivers). Jeanpierre, who started six games at center over the past two seasons, had been in competition with Drew Nowak for the starting job, but Nowak has started the past two preseason games, and this move is a pretty good sign Seattle is comfortable going forward with him as the starters.

Waived: T Jesse Davis, CB George Farmer, WR Deshon Foxx, WR Deontay Greenberry, CB Keelan Johnson, LB Quayshawn Nealy, DE Greg Scruggs, S Ty Zimmerman.

Waived/injured: FB Brandon Cottom, CB Triston Wade.

Cornerback Jeremy Lane and receiver Paul Richardson were placed on the reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list, which means they cannot return until after Week 6 of the regular season.

NFL teams have until Tuesday at 1 p.m. PT to reduce the roster to 75 players.
